im tryin to replace chewed up gears in gear case but cant seem to get drive shaft up threw the unit,got the nut off pinion but no go,any help would be great!!!!!!

Try pulling upward on drive shaft and tap top of shaft with hammer, place a block of wood on top of shaft as to not damage shaft.
