I have a 2005 Yamaha VZ225TLRD. When riding at approximately 3700 RPM I heard a high pitch "singing" followed by what sounded lika a shaft breaking. Could not get the engine in forward or reverse. Foot oil changed October 2009 .... 72 hours ago.
1. what is the most likely breakage? More particularly, what is the most likely cause of malfunction?
2. is this covered under the Yamaha Extended Service Plan?

If it's under warranty then take it to a dealer to get checked it may be covered under warranty.
