Yam250 Gear Oil Leak

'08 with 60 hours ~ oil changed at end of last season ~ used once this year. Just noticed leak from Oil Level Plug ~ maybe an ounce has come out. Has leaked with engine down. Would prefer to repair myself, but interested in advice. I am inclined to add oil (if needed) and replace plug and gasket. What would you do? What do you suspect happened...could it have been over-filled?

The gaskets on oil plugs in gearcase need to be replaced everytime screws are removed or they may leak oil if reused.
