I have a yami 225 excel the power head is less than 2 years old and looks to be in great shape. When I got it, the lower unit was milky. I resealed the LU and did a water pump etc. LU is good.
Now I cannot get this thing to idle.
To start it I have to choke the motor bad once started I can rev the engine and it will will run if i rev it up super hi. It runs like a scalded dog. But eventually it will bog down and die even if I hold the throttle open 2/3.
Once it dies if i dont choke it, the engine will run for 5 secs and bog. Then I have to choke it and floor it to get it to run. No idle...
What I have done:
Compression test read 128-130 across the board. I replaced the fuel pumps took the carb apart and soaked them. Gas is good and fresh. I reset the pilot screws and synced the carbs per the manual. I have a spark tester and a timing light. I tested spark I have it. The timing light will blink twice on #3 cylinder. What does this indicate?
What else would cause the engine not to idle? I am so frustrated.
thanks
