zinc removal 1993 200 hp

How does everyone here remove the zinc's inside the head. I've had the heads bead blasted and will post pics later, now I've removed the screws around the zinc but when I went to pull one out it sorta disintergrated, and now I find myself almost chipping it out.

How do I remove these zinc's?

They normally come right out, probably will have chip them out.
