I had clogged water jackets especially on one side that would send the alarm buzzer off at high speeds. After a lot of time checking and replacing stuff the one thing that really worked was running the motor in a tank with vinegar and water. We mixed 9% Vinegar with 50% water and the stuff really came out. One word is the lower unit paint is not shiny now. We took the water Jacket covers off and they were clean. New gasket and back on the water. This is in a fresh water lake but it is very corrosive for some reason. 1994,175 HP, No coating inside this one.
