  • F75 tilt/trim help needed

2006 F75. I have always use a transom support. Problem: the trim/tilt system has a bit of slack. When the motor is trimmed up for road travel, if you pull up on the leg you can lift the motor up a bit. Watching the chrome ram you see it pull out of the cylinder just a bit, maybe a 1/4". There is NO sigh of a leak. The manual release screw was able to be tightened a 1/2 turn and the nut(fill/check cap??) was able to be tightened a very small amount. Is the slack normal should the motor be rock solid (no play) Do I have a problem? if so what is the fix. Can anyone help me with the correct way to check the fluid level. Thanks to all.

May possible have air in system, if when remove oil cap(with engine tilted up all the way) on reservoir and it seems to have pressure on it then may have air in system.
