  • Removing Steering cable from Engine

I am trying to remove the steering cable from the engine. I start to loosen the Silver nut on the right side but the whole cable is twisting. There is a metal sleeve just to the right of the nut about 6" long that is part of the outside cable.

I am not sure if the nut is frozen to the metal cable sleeve. Is that nut supposed to move freely in respect to the outside metal sleeve on the cable?

I have checked the other post but none specifically mention if that nut is suppose to move freely from the cable.

    Thanks

Yes, that nut spins freely on the cable flange.
