I have a 2008 Yamaha F90 4 stroke. It starts great and runs fine for about 45 min. to an hour, then it seems to want to cut out and die when at slower speeds. It always restarts, but it's hard to keep running smooth after around an hour. I have replaced the filter with a 10 Micron filter, use Stabil Marine additive, and rarely go more than a week without taking the boat out. I am trying to avoid taking the boat out of the water for service as I have no trailer. It's very perplexing, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Check this part. It is #20 on this diagram.
It looks like a small plastic inline fuel filter.
You will find it in the upper rear area near the fuel pump.
With my BRAND new F75, it would idle fine, and accelerate a little bit......then would cough and die.
Restarted fine.
Took off this filter, or as Yamaha calls it, a "strainer" and it was full of black stuff.....so much so that you could not blow air thru it, or suck air out.
On replacement with another, the motor ran as normal.
