Hi,
My husband just called me from Lake Nipissing in Ontario, and he had my 1990 20 HP Yamaha short shaft, 2 stroke engine (bought in Canada) overhauled, (cause he hit a rock...)
anyway....the serial # is 001433
Model 20MSHP
The part that is broken is the little red button where you attach and remove the black plastic key.
My husband says he now has to put 2 wires together to start the motor.
He says it's the on/off switch that is broken?
I'm sorry if this is not very helpful, but can you help me from the little info I've given you?
He can get the part up there, ($170) but I am in Ohio and it would be cheaper if I can buy it down here.
He will eventually get the part number from the guys who did the overhaul, but I thought perhaps I could get moving on this without it.
