is there a way to check and see if my oil pump is working or pumping oil to my 99 250 yamaha

If unsure add oil to gas tank(50:1 oil mix) and mark oil level in oil tank in boat to see if oil level drops and measure amount of oil used per gallons of gas. Engine uses about 50:1 mix at wide open throttle and 200:1 at idle so it hard to gauge how much is being injected. The service manual has other steps for measuring oil pump output.
