87 Yamaha controls tension adjustment

I found an exploded parts diagram of my 1987 control unit (Yamaha Outboard - V6_EXCEL_XH - 1987 - REMOTE CONTROL COMPONENT PARTS (704)).
There are a couple parts identified as shaft friction and throttle friction. Are these adjustable?

My throttle creeps (lowering rpms) down as I ride and I have to hold the throttle to maintain rpms as I ride.

Remove the top cover on control box and there is an adjustment screw on the rear of box , tighten screw to get more friction.
