Hour Meter

Is there a reason why yahama does not install a hour meter on there engines? They give you the book that tells you when to do all the service but they do not install a hour meter? Is there any recommendations for a hour meter. Will a yamaha hour meter part number 6y7-8350400-00 work on a 2008 150 four stroke outboard?

The ECU on your engine does record engine hours, your dealer can print you a copy of diagnostic when you have service done. The digital gauges display engine hours. Yes 6Y7-83504-00-00 hour meter will work on your motor.
