90hp idle issues

Im cosidering buying a boat with a 2003 90 hp two stroke but the owner says it sometimes stalls at idle, what could it be and how much to fix it?

Dirty carbs is the most common problem.

Same motor as mine and sounds like dirty carbs/idle jets. You can have carbs cleaned and set for maybe $200, then install a water/fuel separator(Walmart $27), use Stabil Marine all the time and drain each carb a couple of time a year. If you drain each carb now onto a clean white rag, you'll probably see some water,dirt,debris run out onto rag. That's what's in your jets. The good news is that this didn't create a lean fuel mixture and fry a piston while running up the river. Once you get your fuel system/carbs clean, then you can keep them clean. Good Luck!
