  • Yamaha steering question

I've got a 1989 17' Stratus with a 1989 Yamaha ProV150 on it. It has a dual rack steering system on it. One of the cables froze up on me and I have disconnected the tube on the front of the engine and the rack from the steering wheel. I hooked the steering arm to the end of the single cable that still operates freely. Do I need to replace the bad cable and rack or is a single cable sufficient to steer?

It is reconmended to run dual steering cables on boats that run 50 mph or more.

Okay, I guess I'll need to shop for a replacement rack cable......it's a teleflex, but can't find an id on it. Thanks for the help.
