Please could someone give me some advice on the 1998 Mariner 55HP, is it the same as the Yamaha 55HP, or the Yamaha 60HP.Were they reliable motors,good enough for commercial use.Are spares available,how was the fuel comsumption,did they have any weak links?

Yamaha's C55 is a commercial model and yes they are very good motors. Yamaha does have most all the parts available.

Is the Mariner 55 the same as the Yamaha 55

Have a look under the engine cowl you will be able to see tuning forks ( Yamaha sign) in the casting I think that merc bought them out in 1998 but not sure on that so it may be the last of the yammy mariners .
