1993 T9.9 ELHR parts

my 4 stroke 9.9 is up in storage at the cottage-was running with limited power at times atr the end of the season. Mechanic told me I needed a stator and a computer. I can find the stator but no reference to a computer; do you think he meant C.D.I. unit or does it have a computer.
Any thoughts/help/ideas would be appreciated.

Yes CDI is what Yamaha calls it and charge coil on the stator.
