About V6 CDI units

First I want to thank boats.net for all the help that I have received during the last month. You are good.

But my question - what is the difference between 64D and 64E CDI units? Do they have the same mapping for ignition? Do they give the same mid range performance and how about top end?

They are mapped for different engines but not sure how they would compare to each other in performance.
