2003 HPDI Command Link

I have a 2003 175 HPDI with the standard digital guages. I would like to install 2 command link ones the Tacho, Speed and fuel guages. What exaclty do I need. Do you have to install the speed sensor if you are going to take gps data from a gps (and send the guages info to the gps as well). Just out of curiosity where does the speed sensor go obviously already has the pilot tube connected to the current guage.

Would love to see the install manual so I know what I am getting into.

Command Link gauges will only work on 2006 and newer HPDI motors. You would have to use the Yamaha Multifunction digital gauges on your motor which the tach will give you RPM's, trim gauge, hour meter and warning lights for overheat and oil level. The speedometer will display speed(pitot tube or GPS connection), fuel gauge and trip meter. The speed/fuel management combo gauge will display same as speedo and fuel consumption.

Where will it take the fuel consumption from?? Do I need to install a fuel flow meter for this to work??

Yes if you get the Fuel Management gauge kit it will come with fuel flow sensors that need to be installed in fuel delivery line going to engine. You can use the gauge kits, here is a list of what would be needed.

I only have single engine but can I use this kit just to replace the current speedo and turn it into speedo/fuel management??

I'm sorry, for a single engine You would use 6Y5-W0088-53-00 Fuel management gauge kit and 6YR-W0035-F2-00 Tach, Speed gauge kit and 1 6Y5-85335-10-00 adapter harness.
