Where is the micocompter on a 1996 225-76D

Hello,I am having a problem with my 1996 225 Yamaha 76D engine.I can only get 4400 rpms and than the engine cut out the only way to start the engine is to bypass the micocomputer.P.S the sticker on the oil tank!...Is the problem the micocomputer? if so were is it..Thank you... Frank

The microcomputer is the CDI unit, number 5 in this diagram(Don't know your model number so this may not be your motor) Yamaha Outboard Parts 1996 S225TXRU ELECTRICAL 1 Diagram
You need to test all sensors, ignition system, compression and fuel system before replacing CDI unit.
