Toe In or Toe Out

I was doing some work on the boat this weekend and was checking the tie bar and sea star set up on the engines and there was a "caution" in the owners manual (1.1) on page 17 about "toe in and toe out" of the engines. Is there any for 2006 F150 and LF150 on an Edgewater 245 CC. Also where do I take the measurements from. I guess I'm suppose to have a 26" CD and if that's the case my tube is too long and my tie bar goes past the second inspection hole on the HO6001 new style tie bar according to the diagram on pg 17. So if anybody has any suggestions I'm all ears.
