lower unit swap

I am trying to do a swap over from a jet pump to a prop. The model number of the motor with the pump is f115tjr and it is a 2006.the model number of the motor with the prop is f115tlrz and it is a 2001. Any information on wether or not the two are compatible would be greatly appreciated.

Yes that lower unit will fit your motor but you would have to lower motor on transom 5 inches, jet pump models reqiure a higher mount than prop drives.

So if my motor cannot be lowered on the transom, would I need to buy the 5" motor extension? If so about how much am I looking at paying

Yamaha doesn't offer a shaft extension kit, might check with aftermarket to see if can find a extension kit for it and use a 25 inch shaft gearcase.
