  • water fuel seperator

Hey guys, finally found a great site concerning Yamaha motors, keep up the good work. Concerning the water/fuel seperator, how easy is it to install and where should it be installed ?

    Thanks

Anywhere it's convenient to service. I've seen guys mount them in the motor well, looks like hell but easy to inspect. If you use the 2-micron filter you should mount it where you can see (inspect) the bowl on the bottom of the filter.

Mount the fuel/water separator anywhere that's convenient, probably on the transom, take your time mounting and routing your fuel lines to avoid kinking or rubbing the fuel lines as motor moves through it's full steering range. Probably better to mount separator between primer bulb and motor to catch any rubber debris coming out of primer bulb. After you mount separator you will notice very little if any debris/water in motor mounted filter, but it's still a good back-up filter to leave in place and check/clean occasionally. Good Luck!
