  • New F225 Question

I recently purchased a new F225 TXR. After following the Owner's Manual for break-in instructions, I returned the engine to the dealer for the 20 hour service (actually had 28 hours by then). During the service, they performed compression tests with all cylinders reporting 185, except #6 which was 200. Should I be concerned about the 15 psi difference? Shouldn't all cylinders be almost the same compression?

    Thanks,
    Jon

Have it rechecked and make sure throttle is open while doing test. If still uneven run a shock treatment of ringfree through it.

Thanks for the input. You would think that a new engine wouldn't need a shock treatment of Ring Free, unless the break-in period allows the rings to get gunked up that quickly. Since I won't be back to the service tech until I hit about 100 hours, it will be interesting to see how the compression looks then. I will shock the engine with ring free next time out though, Again, thanks.
