  • Engine bogs down

We are running twin Yamaha 200hp four stroke engines. The problem is that when we start to power up to get on step the starboard engine drops rpm's and the primer has to be pumped to bring rpm's back up. This even happens when we are at a slow idle. We changed all the fuel filters as well as the vst.....no help. Any ideas?

Could be a air leak in fuel system, check oring on engine fuel filter housing, check hose connections and seal on fuel water separator filter.

      Bogus

Your problem is your VST filter in that motor. it takes about 30 min to replace if you have all the replacement lock bands for the fuel lines. your filter is located inside the aluminium box mounted to the side of your motor. You don't have to replace it just wash it with hot soapy water dry and reinstall, just saved yourself a couple hundred $$$$$$$. good luck.
