Mystery plug

I was changing the oil on my 2006 F80 and was looking for the drain plug.

The one directly below the dipstick seen after removing the plastic leg trim only let out about half a cup full of engine oil.

I drained the oil out of the dipstick hole, and re-filled, but my question is what is this plug for and why the small amount of engine oil behind it.

There is also a much larger plug on the other side but I left that alone.

Your oil drain plug should be on the rear of the motor. There should be a 3/4" rubber shroud sticking out, the drain plug is inside of this shroud..
