Just an update on this post -- took the boat out for a sea-trail today, boat ran perfect.....perfect idle with the cleaned out low speed jets, no hesitation when throttling up.......and the digital tachometer worked just fine. The motor runs like it did when they put it on the boat back in 2004.
Thanks to all for their help and especially to "Just-in-time" for his guidance with the wiring/voltage regulator issue.
