How old is my Yamaha

I know this seems to be a popular question, but can someone tell me what age is my sons Yamaha 55 outboard. He has got it from a friend and it needs some parts, but until I find the age I don,t seem to be getting anywhere. I think it is quite old. The markings on the plate are Yamaha 50CE, 6F4 and 300503
