In Need of a 25HP Yamaha Crankshaft

I am looking for a used crankshaft for a 2004 25MSHC 2 stroke 2 cylinder. I blew a head gasket and one cylinder took on some water. The rod is a little discolored and the rod bearing has some rust on it and a bit loose. Unless someone has a repair advise to install a new rod and bearing, I was told I would have to get a new crank to the tune of $600. Why wont most shops press this apart and back together? Thanks
