Could anybody help with a wiring diagram for a yamaha ignition box. At the moment it's in a mess, some wires connected and some not. I recently purchaced a "antique" boat from 1979, the previous owner didn't take much pride in maintanance. The yamaha ignition box/plate consists of key ignition choke and stop switch. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Rupert

I have a 1987 70 hp and I am presently working on the control box.
What wires are not hooked up (I bet it is the black wire because you need a little male to male wire to connect the switch, the emergency cut off and the harness).
Red is hot all the time.
Yellow is hot when the switch is on.
The white wires are all connected together
The black wires are also connected to all of the black wires.
The blue wire goes to the choke.
The brown wire is for the neutral saftey switch.
I hope this helps.
I may be able to send a photo of my box before a put it back together.

Thanks for the help, a photo would be great. I've connected most colours equally, but I couldn't find the brown wire from the control box. I will also take a pic. and fwd. For lights and other accesories, did you conect directly from your battery to your fuse box. PeterComment
