OX66 analog water pressure and temp gauges

2001 OX66 225 - I want to install analog water pressure and temperature gauges that are NOT tied into the existing digital gauges and alarm systems (I want to retain those systems intact and operating, but separately want to be able to monitor water temperature and temperature with old fashioned analog gauges.)

It would appear at least at first glance that there are no spare fittings in the water jacket anywhere in which to easily install sending units.

I am looking for expert help and experience here in installing the needed sending units.

The gauge part numbers are
6Y5-83660-10-00 Pro Series II Water pressure gauge
688-83667-00-00 Water pressure sender
6Y5-83590-00-00 Pro Series II Water Temp gauge
688-83591-00-00 Water temp sender

Would the two ports indicated on the sketch be the
only ports on the top of the block (in which case our digital system is already attached to them), or are there more than two so these would be "spares"?

They are the only ports on top of block in front of cylinder heads. No the Digital gauges does not use these ports only the water pressure and temp gauges.

Not meaning be repetitive, but NEITHER of those two ports would be used by the digital gauge system, even if it included a water temperature read out??

The Yamaha's digital multifunction gauges only have a temp overheat light, doesn't display temp reading. If your digital gauge is something other than Yamaha gauge then it may be possible.

No - we only have the Yamaha digital multifunction gauge - I was thinking it displayed graduated bars or something rather than just a light.

Thanks for your patience - my memory isn't what it once was and the boat and motor are 500 miles north of me.

The good new is that it sounds as if I decide to buy the senders and gauges, there will be a place to hook them up on the motor when I get up there this next spring.

Yes all the V4 and V6 2 stroke engines have the two ports.

My question is what kind of threading is on the sending unit so i can buy a faria or sierra something not overpriced like yamaha.. so what is the threading.

Man, you are riding on an 7 year old post.

The threads are metric. You can remove the Yamaha plug and drill and tap it for an NPT or other fitting as you wish so that you can use some cheap stuff.

On my F225TXRD they are stainless steel -
drill - possible. Tap - not so easily

You are correct. I drilled and tapped an F150 oil pan drain plug so as to install a Cyberdyne temperature sender. Don't think it was stainless but it was tough drilling and tapping.
