I recently purchased a 1993 Pro60 tiller, when I bought it the dealer checked the compression and it read 98,100,100.I know this is an after thought, but is this exceptable compression for this motor? The only thing I have to compare it to is, before this motor I had a 40hp 1991 Evinrude with 121 & 123 comp. Am I comparing apples to oranges. Also I've read a few threads about Decarboning outboards, but I get a little worried when I read about pieces of carbon coming out of the prop: exhaust. If I decarbed this outboard what approach would one take, the shock treatment or just continuing to add ring-free or seafoam to my gas tank? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
