f6amhs to 8hp conversion

hi im new on here,i am new to all things marine . i have just purchased a f6amhs from a dealer at a great price,he said i could convert it to 8hp by getting a yam dealer to change the jets as this is the only difference,i know it will invalidate the warranty but is it this simple? cheers in advance

Not sure I have never tried it, we don't make any horsepower modifications here. Maybe someone else has tried it.

If your 6HP runs like a top then maybe just leave it alone, a couple of HP not going to make much difference in performance and you might screw up the motor messing with it. Just an opinion. Good Luck!
