Key switch alarm buzzer

I have a 02 250 OX66 and when I turn the key to the first position the buzzer doesnt sound. I know it works because I tested it and its a brand new switch. On my previous set up (93 twin 150) everytime you turned the switch to the first position it would beap acouple of time. Iwas kind of like a systems check. So is it suppose to do it with my current engine also or not.

I have heard that single motor systems do not sound alarm on the key on

try to crank the engine with the kill switch off, the alarm should buzz.
not sure on 02 250.

Twins sound alarm at key on--singles do not.

I have a twin set up, no alarm at key on. Only if I pull the kill switch...

Ground the pink wire back at the temp switch to test alarm...easy to do! Good Luck!
