Emergency oil light F15hp

I have a 1999 15hp four stroke YAMAHA. The oil light does not come on when the engine starts. It is supposed to come on and then go off when the engine builds oil pressure. I have checked the light bulb and the oil pressure switch, both are OK. What could be causing the lamp not to get power?
I am realy puzzled.

The CDI controls the light along with the oil pressure switch. Double check the oil pressure switch to make sure is working.

The oil pressure switch is ok. I guess I need a CDI. The motor runs great, the only problem is the light. Thanks for the info.

You maynot neet to do anything

During the 100 hour service I asked the dealer when the oil light is supposed to come on and his response was an emphatic NEVER! I have have yet to see mine come on. I have an 2001 25hp ELHZ.Your CDI my jut be fine.
