  • Help installing throttle and shift cable

Ok. First, thanks to all of you for your posts. I just switch a motor and replaced it (johnson) to a yamaha c60tlry (2000; 60hp) I had to gut from ignition to motor but now have her running and everything works, but one thing

Where I insert the cables through the rubber boot to the engine, what is secret to keeping them from shifting in and out as I move the controler? Is there a mount they should be secured to? If so, what is it cause I only have the boot, wires through it, a cap on top and then pins to secure the cable joints to the pegs.

Can anyone help with this? Maybe a installation picture....

Got it. Number 42 on the "control" link in the parts section. I love this site! I made one out of a plastic, but need to order the right one Monday. I had to have a fix for tomorrow's day on the lake to test out the newly mounted moter and "stuff". Amazing how no one around here seems to carry Yamaha parts.
