Hi there,
I have a problem with my 40hp 1998 yamaha. Cold start is good, when engaging the throtlle engine snors nice at about 4500 rpm. After a minute or so engine coughs and stops. Starts good again, but rpm is getting higher than about 2000 rpm, stops suddenly and coughs.
When i manually cut loose the shaft to the cdi-unit and engage the throtlle i can get up to 4500 rpm again.
As soon as i hook up the CDI-unit to the throttle the motor has the problem as described, but only when it's warm. When the engine is cold everything is OK!
CDI was replaced this winter by the dealer. Was good for a time, now this problem.
