  • Yamaha 150 Salt water -00

I purchase this engine a couple a mount ago and now im trying to start it,
it run with start gas (don’t find the English name, its gas you spray in the carburetor)
It’s no petrol on the sparking plug, (there are god spark).
The bladder (?) is hard after I pump it.
    Have I missed something?

Or should I take it to the marina workshop!

    Smilla,
You could have a plugged up fuel filter or carbeurators or bad fuel pump. You can check the filter fairly easily yourself. Unhook the hose that leads from the filter housing to the fuel pump and pump the fuel line bulb (bladder) - be sure to use a pan or something to catch the fuel that should squirt out of the filter. If you can't get any fuel to flow out of the filter by squeezing the bulb, then the filter is plugged up.
    Remove and clean/replace screen.
If you can get fuel to flow out of the filter, then the pump may not be working, or the carbs are gummed up. Better take it to a marine mechanic. If you want to try to repair it yourself, I would recommend you get a Yamaha shop manual. Go to yamahapubs.com and order one.
    Good luck,
    Ken K
