trim continuously running and draining battery

I came home to see my motor in the down position and battery drained. I disconnected the motor and recharged the battery and as soon as I connected the motor again the trim motor is running in the down postion and will not come up when I press the up trim button. When I do press the up button it stops the trim motor and restarts again when i let go. Any suggestions. I have also disconnected each pulg to the trim switches and when the battery is connected the motor runs again.

Most of the time its a bad trim switch, water gets inside switch and shorts it out. Check trim switch on engine control box handle and bow mounted switch if has one for shorts. Check wiring going to each switch for shorts.
