  • 03 70hp 2 stroke hard to start in morning

My 70hp 2 stroke is very hard starting if it has sat for a couple days, after I get it running it runs great the rest of the day, I assume the fuel is draining back, where is the best place to start? thanks

What year and model is your motor? Does it have a choke or is it prime start?
What procedure do you use to crank it when cold?
Do you follow the owners manual procedure for starting?

The engine is 03 70hp 2 stroke 70TLRB, all the owners manual says to do is turn the key, it says nothing about choking or how the prime start is supposed to work, could you explain that to me please, thanks

my c40 usually starts on the second 2 or 3 second crank of the key and then first turn after that on restarts
Make sure your bulb is pumped up good and firm before the cold start

....or as could be nothing more than a weak battery.

...my '06 would kick out the starter prematurely...thus no start.

Load test the battery...it will make a difference.
