40 el lower unit

i have a mariner/yamaha trying to find a lower unit the numbers are 40el
6e9-417800 i think it is a 1985 don't know what other years or brands will work

The Mariner part number is 7995M Mercury Mariner Parts 40C (TWIN CARB) 6E9-400231 THRU 6E9-423162 (EL) GEARHOUSING ASSEMBLY Diagram
Not sure if Yamaha will work or not, it's part number 6E9-45300-12-EJ Yamaha Outboard Parts 1991 C40ELRP LOWER DRIVE 1 Diagram
Niether one is available anymore.

do you know where i might find one everybody says it made by yamaha
i dont know if there right

i did find a nissan lower unit that fit right in to the housing but it was a short shaft and the exhaust did not come out through the prop
