Dirty Gear Oil

I drained the gear oil from my 1997 T50's. Oil was very black with small amount of 'fuzz' on magnetic drain plug. Was planning on running engines for a few hours and then draining and refilling again.
Anything else I should check, or worry about?
Previous owner probably never changed the oil.

You are doing the right thing, if it's been awhile then it may take a couple of oil changes to clean up.

Seems like the gear oil hasn't been changed for a long time if ever. Will it have damaged anything?
I am hoping the new oil will help keep the gearcase working for a while longer.

If you didn't find water in gear case or metal on drain screw magnet then it probably ok.
