Under normal operating conditions, in freshwater only, how many hours will the power head endure before a rebuild is needed? I'm wondering, is there a service limit value published? I've never seen one.

It all depends on how you use it and how you maintain it. My motor is a 1999 90HP Yamaha, similar to yours, but mine is a premix motor while yours is oil injected. My motor runs just like a new one. Use the Ringfree, Stabil Marine, install a fuel/water seperator, drain carbs at least a couple of times a year. check your oil injection system. Buy a manual, study and learn the motor. It should last you for many years of happy boating. Clean, fresh, stabilized fuel all the time! Good Luck!
