1999 2 stroke 60

After running the motor at 25 mph for about 2 minutes an alarm goes off and motor slows to idle. After about 30 seconds alaem clears and motor runs fine for awhile. Help

Sound like an over heat condition activating the rpm reduction mode. Water pump been changed recently?

Yes I changed the impeller last year.

I agree, sounds like an over heat condition. Are you getting a nice stream of water from the outlet?

yes I am getting a good stream of water. It does not overheat unless I run it hard for a few minutes.
