cooling water

i have a 1991 90hp 2 stroke im wondering when water gets pumped thru the water pump does it go to the exhaust water passages and then over to the cooling passages on the head of the motor? I am also looking for a breakdown of the thermostat housing and the parts inside. if anyone can help i would apreciate it.

Thw water pump pumps water through cooling passages on engine then water exits through exhaust.
