  • Replacing fuel filter inside T9.9

I suspect the filter inside the engine of my T9.9 is at least partly clogged.
The engine has been hesitating going from idle to higher revs.

The 2002 engine only has about 50 hours running time, but I may have
run some gunk through it before I changed fuel hoses and put in a 10
micron fuel line filter. I'm curious under more ideal conditions, how long
should you run this engine before swapping out the fuel filter inside
    the engine?

From the parts blow up, it appears that the operation of swapping this
filter is straight forward. Seem like you just take off a nut to drop the
filter holder down and swap out the element. Am I correct about this?

since I added the fuel/water seperator/filter to my boat/motor a few years ago I get almost nothing in the under cowl fuel filter, but I still check it from time to time just to be sure. I believe the new 10 micron filters are the best preventive maintenance item yet, but you still need the Stabil Marine and the Ringfree. Your carbs probably could use a good cleaning now. when my boat/motor is not going to be run for several weeks I usually just drain the carbs with the small drain plugs on the sides of the float chambers just to be sure. Good Luck!
