  • VMAX 150 Water Pump Problem

I have a 2003 VMAX 150 and have a minor problem with the waterpump. Whenever I start up the engine it takes a while for the water to come out of the pee-hole. I normally have to rev-up the engine a bit to get the water going and wondered if this is a common problem with this engine. I just had the pump replaced by an authorized dealer and the problem is still there. I've heard from others with the same engine that this is common problem. Is this true? Is there a fix for this problem?

Got a similar engine only a '99. How long is a while? It usually takes about 5seconds to see the telltale. That's after the engine is cold and tilted up. The telltale is at the end of the cooling circuit just before heading to the lower end. It may be normal. You shouldn't have to rev the engine. I would try it without reving the engine and if the overheat buzzer goes off take it back to the dealer.
