I have 84 40 hp 2stroke having a weak pee flushed the system. I was told to change the impellor need some more info on this. the motor overheats at half throttle but not at full throttle
replace the water pump/impeller and thermostat. a good marine technician should be able to do it for around $200, unless you can do it yourself. Good Luck1
