Yamaha 150 hp 2 stroke rpm problem

yesterday I went through a kelp bed at full power and my alarm came on so I shut down the engine. I turned on my kicker and fished for a couple of hours then re-started the main engine. No problems re-starting and the alarm did not go off. However while travelling back to the dock I could not get the engine back up to full rpm. I could only get it to run up to 3700 rpm even at full throttle. It seemed a bit sluggish but was not running rough at all. When I got to the dock I lifted the motor and noticed that all of the paint was worn off my propeller but there was nothing dragging on the prop. Any ideas as to what to do in order to get my rpms back up to normal?

Sounds like something was caught on prop, might give another try to see if still doing it.
