Yamaha Tach Question ?

I have a 2000 or 1999 Yamaha 90 2 stroke. The current tach that i have has no buttons on the Gauge, it is damaged and not working. They told me that i could use 6y5-8350t-82-00. I want to make that this is correct cause i am going to buy it, the difference i see is that my original one does not have two bottons on the gauge and the Suggested one 8350T-82-00 has two buttons on the front. Will this matter can i use the 8350T-82-00 with no problem?

Yes that is the correct tach, it will work on your motor. Set new tach for 2 stroke engine, 12 ploe alternator and 3 wire trim sender.

Hi, I have 6Y5-8350T-82-00. The trim indicator is at the top of the gauge and the top bar flashes. The indicator does not move when I adjust motor. Any idea what I should check?

You didn't say what motor you have, check wiring between tach and engine, check that tach setting is set correctly, check trim sender.
